Not long ago, a girl named Cindy came to Teen Challenge. She had dark hair,
brown eyes and a beautiful smile although we didn t see that smile very often at
first.

I Started Using Alcohol at the Age of 14.-
I was born and raised in a good Christian home. I went to church 5 times a week
and was involved in every youth activity they offered. By the age of 15 I was smoking
pot.

in jail when I heard about the Teen Challenge program. The
first day I entered the program we went to a church in Bakersfield and a lady came
up to me and asked me if my name was Kerry. She was the wife of my junior high principal
who I hadn't seen since then. She cried and told me she had been praying for me
since the seventh grade.

Heroin Addict to a Respectable Citizen- After spending over
20 years addicted to heroin, Phil Cookes is now not only free from the slavery of
drug addiction, he has become a well-respected member of his community.

to attend school.
